THE MYTH ABOUT SULFATES

The term Sulfate is related to Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate are both surfactants, derived from  coconut oil. Both are surfactants used in shampoos, shower gels and tooth pastes for cleansing.

Both have a long history of safe use in a variety of consumer personal care products. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is used for its detergency and foaming ability. Sodium Laureth Sulfates are milder on the skin however do not provide as much foam as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Many shampoos use a combination of surfactants to deliver optimal cleansing while maintaining a proper mildness for consumer use.
